寝ちゃった...

I was just feeding our baby some udon noodles for lunch. He was eating a lot for a while, but all the sudden he closed his mouth and fell asleep. He usually takes a short nap between 10am to 11am but didn't today, so maybe he was really tired.

さっきお昼ご飯におうどんをあげていたら、最初はぱくぱく食べてくれていたのに、急に口を閉ざしてしまって...そのまま寝てしまいました。いつもは朝１０時〜１１時の間くらいに、短いお昼寝をするのだけど、今日はしなかったから疲れてたのかな。

I slowly took off his bib and spoon, and wiped around his mouth, but he did not wake up.

そろ〜っとスタイとスプーンを取って、お口の周りも拭いたけど起きず。

I did not want to wake him up by taking his out of the chair, so I just reclined the chair. He is snoring...

ベビーチェアーから出したらさすがに起こしてしまうかな、と思って、背もたれだけ倒しました。いびきをかきながら気持ち良さそうに眠ってます〜♡

つくピー

The other day, I saw a recipe of meatballs and green peppers. You usually cook green peppers, but this one you eat it raw with meatballs. I was curious how it tasted like, so I cooked some meatballs and eat them with green peppers today. Ummm it was just like meatballs and raw green peppers... Meatballs were good, but I probably wouldn't eat them with raw green pepper again.

最近「つくピー」っていうのを聞いてずっと気になっていました。なんとなく名前が可愛くて。つくねとピーマンで「つくピー」らしいです。ピーマンって普通炒めて食べるけど、つくピーは、つくねを生のピーマンの上に乗せて食べるんやって〜。どんな感じなのかなと、早速作ってみました。つくねは美味しいけど、別にピーマンに乗せなくても良いかな...という感じでした。多分もう二度としません。

When I told Jeff that I was going to make meatballs with green pepper for dinner today, he said that it did not sounds so good, so I decided to make something else with meatballs. I made sweet and sour meatballs. It was better than with raw green pepper!

昨日の夜ジェフに、「明日つくピー作るよ！」って言うと、「あんまり美味しそうじゃないわ...」と反応が悪かったので、つくピーは試食程度にして、残りのつくねで酢豚もどきの酢肉団子？を作りました。こっちの方が美味しかった☆

Our baby LOVE sweet potatoes and apple!! When he eats something he really likes, he opens his mouth very big. When he usually eats, he opens his mouth as I bring a spoon by his mouth, but when he is eating something he really likes, he opens his mouth and waits for me to give him more.

赤ちゃんは、サツマイモとリンゴを煮たのが大大大好きです♡好きな物を食べる時と、普段の食事の時の口の開け方が明らかに違います！普段はスプーンを口に近づけると口を開けるのですが、好きな物の時は自分からあ〜んと大きな口を開けたり、早くもっとくれよ〜と言わんばかりにお皿を覗き込んだりします☆

He is being mean to Jeff. Jeff is struggling to breath... Baby is strong!!

パパが虐められてます...。さっき大好物を貰ってたのに〜。ジェフが「息ができないよ〜」ともがいてます。赤ちゃんの力ってすごい！！

久しぶりのカレー

We haven't eaten curry for a long long time, but I was craving it the other day so I decided to make some last night. Jeff usually doesn't like curry and that is why we don't cook curry often. I cooked vegetables and beef tendon until they were tender, and then added some curry roux.

今日は久しぶりにカレーを食べました！ジェフがカレーあんまり好きじゃないので、作ったら私一人で何日もカレー...ってことになるので、家ではほとんどカレー作りません。でも久しぶりに食べたいな〜って言ったら、ジェフもたまには良いかな〜となったので、昨日の夜から作りました。お野菜と牛筋がやわらか〜くなるまで煮込んで、今回はこの横濱舶来亭の辛口ルーを使ってみました。

Instead of eating it with rice, Jeff made some Naan. It was his first time making Naan, so it turned out more like tortilla or pita bread, but it was good!

ご飯の代わりに、ジェフがナンを焼いてくれました〜☆初めてのナンだったので、ナンというよりメキシコ料理のトルティーヤみたいな感じになってしまったけど、美味しかった！

It is becoming Jeff's Sunday routine to bake bread. This time, he used the ceramic container which I used to make cheesecake the other day, and it made the outside of the bread really crispy. He is getting better and better every time!

パン作りは、ジェフの日曜日の日課になったみたいです。今回は、この間チーズケーキを焼いた時に使った陶器の器に生地を入れて焼いたら、外がかりかりで、いままでで一番上手くできました！毎回新しい発見があって、上達していってるようです☆

When I was cooking last night, our baby started crying so I put him in sling, then he fell asleep in my back. When Jeff came home, he took this picture. I can see his teeth!

泣くのでおんぶしながら夜ご飯の準備をしていたら、眠ってしまいました。ジェフが帰って来てもぐっすり...。後ろではこんなことになってたみたいです。ちょっと歯が見えてる〜。

Today I took our baby to get his third DPT shot. He cried more than last two times, but stopped after a little while. The doctor threatened him again by telling him how this shot hurts really bad, and all babies cries 100% for sure.

今日は３回目の三種混合に行って来ました！今回もおりこうさんだったけど、前の２回に比べたら泣いたかな。色々何が起きてるのか、分かるようになってきたのかもね！あのお医者さんには相変わらず脅されました！

On the way home, I got some tooth brush for our baby. He is 8 month old now but he just barely started having a tooth, so I will use the "step 1" tooth brush. It seems like he likes biting it :)

帰りは赤ちゃんの歯ブラシを買って来ました。３段階レッスンになっている３本セットのを買ったのだけど、レッスン段階１は６〜８ヶ月頃の「歯が生え始める頃から」と書いてありました。８ヶ月からはレッスン段階２の「前歯がそろい始める頃から」と書いてあったけど、８ヶ月のうちの赤ちゃんはやっと歯が生え始めたばかりなので、レッスン段階１を使ってみます☆

Today was our 6 year anniversary! It's soooo fast!! We got married on January 20th, 2005 and we had our wedding on May 25th, 2005. We always argue which day we should celebrate our anniversary on... but we always forget which day we had agreed on next year. Both of us really don't care about anniversaries, so we sometimes remember about our anniversary after few weeks later. This year I remembered (I don't know about Jeff), so I guess we will have to celebrate!

今日は結婚記念日でした。結婚してもう６年になるなんて早いな〜！籍を入れたのが１月２０日で、結婚式をしたのが５月２５日。いつもどっちの日に結婚記念日のお祝いしようか〜って話して、決めて、また次の年には結局どっちに決めたのか忘れて...って感じで６年経ちました。２人とも記念日とかあんまり気にしないので、「あ...そういえば先週やったね〜」なんてこともよくありました。今年はなんとか覚えていたので（ジェフはどうだか知りませんが）、お祝いします（笑）。

I cooked some pork which I marinated in miso since last night.

昨日の夜から、豚の味噌漬けを作っておいたので、夜焼きました。この間ピアノの先生から頂いた雪白と紅麹味噌を混ぜました。

And I baked cheese cake for dessert. I used yogurt instead of cream because Jeff is on diet. 200g of cream has about 860kcal where 200g of yogurt only has 120kcal, so it's a big difference! The cake was good!

デザートはチーズケーキを焼きました♡ ジェフがダイエット中なので、生クリームの代わりにヨーグルトを使いました。生クリーム200gだと860カロリー位あるけど、ヨーグルト200gだと120カロリーなので、かなり違います！ヨーグルトでも美味しかった♡

寒さ対策！

ジェフの新しいあったか靴下です。早速今日履いて行きました。

We don't know why...but our baby loves Jeff's bag. He gets so excited when Jeff comes home, I mean Jeff's bag comes home! Jeff didn't want him to play with the bag, so he hide it. A little later, our baby was being quiet so I looked over, and he found the bag and playing with it again.

何故か分かりませんが、赤ちゃんはジェフの鞄が大好き！ジェフが帰って来ると嬉しそうににこにこして、ジェフ...ではなく鞄に寄って行きます（笑）。でもジェフに触ったら駄目〜と言われて、隠されてしまいました。ところが...何か静かにしてるな〜と思ったら、また鞄を見つけて遊んでました。

昨日の夜、ジェフが作ったブレッドボール。

去年のハロウィンの時に初めて作ったのに比べたら、かなり上達しました！

This year, Jeff's school is going to have English Camp. They have never done it before, so they are going to have pre English Camp with ESS students next month to see what it's going to be like. They are going to make clam chowder and bread bowls for lunch together, so Jeff practiced making bread bowl last night.

今年は、学校でイングリッシュキャンプ（英語授業の合宿）をやるそうです。でも学校にとっても初の試みなので、来月ESSの生徒と一緒に予行イングリッシュキャンプ？みたいなのをするそうです。その時に、お昼ご飯にみんなでクラムチャウダーとブレッドボールを作るので、昨日は試しに作ってみたみたい。

Our baby ate some of the bread bowl:) He is practicing grabbing a piece of bread from Jeff's hand and bring it to his mouth. He can grab and eat something big by himself, but it seems difficult for him to grab something small, especially bread sticks to his hand...

作った後は、赤ちゃんが食べました！ジェフの手のひらに載せたパンのかけらをつかんで口に運ぶ練習をしています☆大きな物なら、自分でつかんで口に持って行けるけど、小さいと難しいみたい。特にパンは手のひらにくっついてしまうようです。

When we woke up this morning, there were even more snow on the ground! The cars behind our apartment are covered with snow.

今朝も起きたらすごい雪でした。お家の裏の駐車場に止めてある車は、ほぼ雪に埋まってしまってます...。

We can't see the stairs. When Jeff left to school this morning, he wore snow boots which comes up to his knees, but they were covered with snow half way.

階段も雪で埋まってる〜。ジェフが出掛ける時、スノーブーツを履いて行ったのだけど、膝まであるスノーブーツの半分くらいまで雪に埋もれていました！今は雪は止んでるけど、道路が凍っているので、赤ちゃんとお出かけは危険なのでお家に籠ります...。

雪、雪、雪！

The weather report said that it would snow a lot throughout the weekend, but it did not snow at all yesterday...but when we woke up this morning, there was probably 10cm of snow on the ground.

天気予報で、週末は大荒れですって言ってたのに、結局昨日は雪が降りませんでした。天気予報も当てにならないな〜なんて言ってたら、今朝起きたら辺り一面真っ白！

I know this is nothing compared to Utah's snow, but we just didn't expect this much snow in Maizuru. When we moved here, many people told us that it snows a lot in winter in Maizuru, but it did not snow much last year, so we thought people were exaggerating...but they were not!

ユタに比べたらこれくらいの雪はたいしたこと無いのだけど、去年はほとんど雪が降らなかったので、びっくり！舞鶴に来てから周りの人に、「舞鶴の冬は雪がすごいよ！」って良く言われてたので、去年は「な〜んや、こんなものか〜。ユタから来たからこれくらいならどうってことないわ！」ってジェフと話してたのに...。

I tried to make a snowman for our baby...but it was too cold to stay out there. I gave up in the middle of making it, so it ended up looking like mochi according to Jeff. I think it looks like an owl.

赤ちゃんの為に、雪だるまを作ってみました。でも寒すぎて完成できず...中途半端に終ってしまって、ジェフにはお餅に見えると言われ、自分ではフクロウにしか見えません。
