お散歩

Today was little cloudy but not too cold, so I took our baby out on stroller. A teacher at Jeff's school gave him this blanket:) He passed out soon after we started going though...

今日は曇ってるような晴れているようなお天気だったけど、そんなに寒くなかったのでお散歩に行って来ました☆すぐに眠ってしまったけど...　このブランケットも、ジェフの学校の先生に頂きました。ベビーカーでも、抱っこやおんぶの時も使えてとっても便利です♪

怖かった〜！！！

I found this Chinese vegetable, Kong Xin Cai?, at the supermarket the other day:) I love this vegetable!! I used to order them when I went to Chinese restaurants in the U.S.

この間みつけたお野菜。空芯菜の新芽☆空芯菜は大好きで、アメリカに居た時も中華料理を食べに行ったら良く注文していたけど、新芽を食べるのは初めてです。

お鍋にピッタリ！って書いてあるけど、サラダでも食べられると書いてあったので、サラダに。見た目は貝割れみたいな、でも味というか食感は水菜みたいな感じ。この鶏の胸肉は、お鍋にお湯を沸騰させて、その中にお肉を入れて蓋をして、１０秒数えたら火を止めて３０分放置するという方法で作ってみました。初めは本当にちゃんと火通るのかな〜と心配やったけど、ちゃんと中まで火も通ってるし、パサパサにならないし、美味しい♪

Jeff's boss at his school gave our baby a cute little backpack! I put it on his back all day...it is just so cute.

先日、ジェフの学校の先生から、赤ちゃんリュックを頂きました！こんな小さな体でリュックを背負ってる姿がなんとも可愛い♡かわいくて、家の中でずっと背負ってうろうろしてます（笑）。

Jeff got a hair cut today. He went to the new hair cut place. After he got a hair cut, the guy pointed Jeff's face and said "Face?", so Jeff said "Yes" thinking that the guy was going to trim his sideburns...but WRONG! He shaved Jeff's five chin hairs with a straight razor. That was not all. He also shaved and shaped Jeff's eyebrows too. Jeff was really scared! Good thing he doesn't have a unibrow anymore:P

今日はジェフが散髪してきました。初めてのお店だったのですが、髪を切った後、顔を指して「顔？？」と聞かれたので、もみあげの所を剃ってくれるのかと思ったジェフは「はい」と返事。すると、あの、昔の散髪屋さん（テレビでしか見た事ないけど）のような剃刀を出して来て、ジェフの５本くらいしかないヒゲを剃ってくれたそうです。人に顔を剃ってもらった事の無いジェフは、怖い〜〜〜と思いながらじっとしていると、だんだん剃刀が眉毛に近づいて来て...眉毛剃られてしまいました...。眉毛と眉毛の間も剃られて...かっこ良くなったでしょ！？

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY♡

Today is Valentine's Day! While Jeff was at work, I made some Carmel Banana Muffins for him.

今日はバレンタイン♡ジェフがお仕事に行っている間に、キャラメルバナナマフィンを作りました☆

While I was making them, our baby was playing in the baby cage. He was laughing but then got quiet, so I looked in the cage and found him sleeping. One of his sock is missing :)

作っている間一人で遊んでてくれた赤ちゃん。きゃっきゃと笑って楽しそうにしていたのに、急に静かになったな〜と思ったら...眠ってました。靴下が片方脱げてる〜。

For dinner, I made Chizimi which is Korean pancake. I made it a heart shape for Valentine!

夜はほうれん草のちぢみ。バレンタインらしく、ハート型に焼いてみました！

Over the weekend, we have received Valentine's gift from one of my friends. It was chocolate covered potato chips. I had never had them before, but it was really good. It was the first Valentine gift which our baby received in his life! (In Japan, girls give boys chocolate on Valentine's Day, and boys are supposed to give something back on White Day which is on March 14th).

週末、お友達からポテトチョコが届きました☆赤ちゃん初のバレンタインチョコゲット！でも食べられないから、パパとママが食べてあげました（笑）。初めて食べたけど、美味しかった！

Jeff brought some Valentine's gift back from school today. His boss gave him some chocolate and a pair of cute little shoes for our baby!

そして今日も、ジェフの上司の先生からバレンタインのプレゼントにチョコと靴を頂きました☆

Look! I can stand up good with these shoes :)

見てみて！立っちできるよ！これを履いて、パパと一緒に学校に行こうかな〜♪

I was thinking what we did last year on Valentine's Day. I was around 7 month pregnant, and we had a parenting class that we needed to go to. I remember the weather was nice, not like this year, so we walked more than an hour to go to the place. I also remember that Jeff fell asleep during the class because he did not understand what was going on.

去年のバレンタインは何してたかな〜と考えてました。去年は妊娠７ヶ月くらいで、ちょうどパパママ学級に行ったんやった〜。今年みたいにお天気悪くなかったから、片道１時間以上の所まで、ぶらぶら運動がてら歩いて行ったな〜。受講中は、ジェフは日本語分からなくて居眠りしてたな（笑）。懐かし〜。

とうとう。。。

Today we took a break from eating salad, and made some Shumai, steamed pork dumplings. Usually it is wrapped in very thin sheet of dough, but I used sticky rice instead. It turned out sooooo good!

今日はちょっとサラダ中心の夕食もお休みして、焼売を作ってみました！餅米があったので、焼売の皮の代わりに餅米を周りに付けて蒸しました。め〜〜〜っちゃ美味しくできてびっくり！下に敷いたキャベツも美味しかった♡

While Jeff was doing dishes after dinner, I was in the room with our baby. I was watching TV for a second, and then I heard some papers rustling. I turned my head around, and I saw our baby sitting on the table playing with some papers! I thought that he stepped on a pillow that was on the ground, so I hide it. After that I went in the kitchen...and heard the papers rustling noise again. Jeff quickly looked into the room and found our baby on the table again! He now knows how to get on the table without stepping on anything.

夕食が終ってジェフが洗い物をしてくれている間、一瞬テレビの方を向いていると、なにやらカサカサ音が。振り返ると赤ちゃんがテーブルの上に座ってる！床にクッションがあったので、それを踏み台にして上ったのかと思って、クッションを隠しました。前から私の膝を踏み台にして、机の上に這い上がろうをしていたので。その後ちょっと台所へ行ったら、またカサカサ音が。覗いて見ると、またまた赤ちゃんがテーブルの上に！床にはクッションも何もないのに...ついにやり方を覚えてしまったのか、踏み台なしにテーブルの上に這い上がれるようになってしまいました...。どんな風に上るのか、こっそり観察。

Can you check my Japanese mommy? I almost want to tell him good job!! but it's not really good job...it's very dangerous!!! From now on, he will be put in the baby cage when nobody is around him...

軽々上ってしまいました...。得意そうな顔して...すごいね！って言ってあげたいけど、すごくない〜。怖いわ...これからはちょっとでも目を離す時は、ベビーサークルの中やね...。

But maybe it won't be long till he can climb out of the baby cage. Sometimes he can stand for like 10 seconds without holding anything.

でもここからもそのうち這い出してきそうやわ！見てみて〜最近は上手くいったら１０秒くらいなら一人で立っていられます☆

よだれが〜

We woke up this morning, and there was no snow on the ground...yet! My mom told me that it snowed a lot last night in Osaka, and it is still snowing there today. That is wired... but it is cloudy and cold here in Maizuru today, so it will probably start snowing here soon... Today we went shopping and got this little clip thing for bib. Our baby drools a lot so his bibs get wet and I have to change them 3 or 4 times everyday. With this little clip thing, I can just use small towels☆

３連休のお天気は大荒れ、と言っていたのに、今朝起きてみたら全く雪は降っていませんでした。大阪の方が昨日からの雪が積もっててすごいみたい。こんなことってあるのね。でも舞鶴の空もどんより曇っていて、いつ雪が降り出すか...。そうなる前に、お買い物に行って来ました。最近よだれがすごい赤ちゃん。歯が生える前よりすごい気がする。すぐにスタイがびしょびしょになってしまうので、一日３、４回替えてます。で、今日はこれを買って来ました！かわいい〜♡

When Jeff went to the international meeting last week, there were a few newspaper companies there to interview the students. Jeff and the other teachers are on Maizuru city newspaper! He got a photocopy of it from his principle.

そうそう、この間ジェフが行った留学生交流会に、毎日新聞と舞鶴市民新聞が取材に来ていました。後日両方の新聞に記事が載ったみたいです☆毎日新聞には留学生の写真しか載らなかったけど、舞鶴市民新聞にはジェフの写真も載っていました〜！校長先生が新聞のコピーを下さいました☆

また雪〜...

Last few days were nice, but it snowed again this morning. We will have three day weekend this week, but it looks like it is going to snow... :(

お天気が良かったのは３日程...昨日からまたお天気が崩れて、今日は雪だったり霙だったり。明日からせっかくの３連休だけど、ずっと雪みたいです。

I cooked celery and celery leaves with fish flakes which my piano teacher sent for Jeff the other day. I think I like cooked celery better than raw.

昨日は、この間頂いた鰹節で、セロリとセロリ葉のおかか炒めを作ってみました。セロリを生で食べるより美味しかった☆

It is snowing and cold, so our baby and I can't go outside...plus I couldn't get enough sleep last night so I am little stressed...I need something sweet! My mom sent Jeff some sweets yesterday for Valentine's day, but I should wait for Jeff to come home to eat those. I actually ate one of them yesterday before Jeff came home. This morning, I gave him a piece so that he can eat at work, but without knowing that I already had a piece, Jeff said "Oh, I don't want to eat it by myself. We will share it when I get back from work tonight." That was very nice of him! I had to confess that I already had a piece :P Well, so I should not eat anymore while Jeff is at work...so I decided to make "Mushipan" which is sweet steamed bread. My mom used to make these when I was little and I always loved them.

今日はお外に行けないし、寝不足でなんだか憂鬱...なんか甘いものが食べたいな〜って思ってました。昨日おばあちゃんからジェフに届いたバレンタインのお菓子があるのだけど、ジェフが帰ってくるまで待った方が良いし...。実は昨日、届いてすぐにひとつ食べました。同じ種類のがもうひとつあったから、今朝ジェフに「ランチの後のデザートに持って行きね〜」って言うと、私がすでにひとつ食べた事を知らないジェフは、「ひとつしかないから、帰ってから半分こしよ☆」。なんて優しい〜。「あ...昨日もうひとつあったの食べちゃった」と言うと、「あ〜だから中身が何か知ってたんや〜」と言ってました（笑）。そんな一件があったので、残りのお菓子はジェフが帰って来るまで待つ事にしたけど、他に甘い物が無い〜。じゃあ作ろうかなと、家にあった材料でできる蒸しパンを作る事にしました☆お砂糖はレシピの半分にして、レーズンをいれました。小さい時よく作ってもらってたな〜。美味しかった♡

I made some for our baby with carrots. These don't have any sugar. This recipe doesn't use eggs, so it's good for babies. Actually our baby tried egg yolk for the first time the other day. He did not get any allergic reaction so that was good. He has not tried any egg white though.

赤ちゃんにも、お砂糖なしの人参入りを作りました☆このレシピは卵も要らないから、赤ちゃんも大丈夫！あ、でもこの間初めて黄身食べました！ちょっとあげて様子を見てたけどなんとも無かったので、昨日もまたちょっと食べました。アレルギーは大丈夫みたい。卵白はまだやけど。

He ate whole mushipan all by himself :)

ひとつまるまる食べちゃった☆
