This is Jeff's avocado plant which he has had since this summer. We finally got an avocado!!!

Just kidding...I bought it at a supermarket. His avocado tree is getting taller and taller, but it doesn't seem like getting anything... We probably need to move it to a bigger pot or something. I made california rolls with this avocado. It's been forever since I made california rolls last. I used to make them more often when we were in Utah for potluck parties.
...というのはうそです。これはスーパーで買いました。ジェフのアボカドの木、背丈はどんどん大きくなってるけど、本当にこれに実がなるのやら...。この植木鉢に植わってる限りは無理そうです〜。今日はこのアボカドを使って、久しぶりにカリフォルニアロールを作りました。アメリカに居た頃はしょっちゅう作ってたな〜。アメリカ人はカリフォルニアロールが大好きで、会社やお友達とのポットラックの時は必ずこれ作ってました！本当は昨日のお誕生日に作る予定だったけど、お昼間赤ちゃんをスリングに入れてお買い物に行って、帰ってからも泣くのでスリングに入れながら夜ご飯の準備をしていたら、最後の方はばててしまって、カリフォルニアロールは諦めました...。

Everyone liked Jeff's rice crispy treats at the ESS Christmas party! If that's all, his day would have ended good... but he had bad experience at the end of the day. When he usually come back from Nishi Maizuru, he takes a local train to Higashi Maizuru. Since we live in the country side, the train comes only once every hour. There are also rapid trains from Kyoto which stops at Nishi Maizuru and goes to Higashi Maizuru every hour, but you need to pay extra money for this. Today, the local train was already left, and Jeff did not want to wait for another one hour for the next local train, so he got on the rapid train thinking extra fee wont be too much. WRONG! He had to pay 200yen for the ride plus 630yen more for rapid when he only has to pay 200yen for the local train. He had to pay 830yen for a 10 minute train ride. He came home very upset, but he sure learned a lesson!!
ジェフ、クリスマスパーティーは楽しかったみたいです。みんなライスクリスピートリートも気に入ってくれたみたい。そこで一日がご機嫌良く終れば良かったのですが...帰りの西舞鶴から東舞鶴までの電車、間違って特急に乗ってしまったみたい。東舞鶴から西舞鶴まで一駅なのですが、田舎なので、１時間に一本、普通電車と京都から来る特急が交互に来ます。ジェフは普通電車を逃してしまったので、特急に乗ってしまったようです。乗る寸前に気付いたけど、普通は出てしまった後で、また１時間も待つのは嫌だし...と思ってそのまま乗り込むと、案の定特急料金を取られてしまいました（涙）。一駅なのに、乗車券の２００円プラス、綾部からの特急料金と同じ６３０円を取られてしまいました。かなりお怒りで帰ってきました...。「勉強になったわ！ぷんぷん！」って感じでした！
