Today I took our baby for a walk and took some pictures of where we live.

今日はこの前とは反対方向へお散歩に行き、家の近くの風景を撮って来ました。

Exploring Nishimaizuru

It was a perfect weather yesterday, so we decided to go to the park by the sea... I assume that everyone with little kids has experienced not being able to leave house on time as they planned. We are not exceptional...but the reason we can't leave the house on time is because of this guy!

Okay...maybe it was not just because of him today. Our baby pooped right before we left, so we gave him a quick bath, and we missed a sightseeing bus which runs only once a day to the ocean park. So, we decided to explore Nishi Maizuru. We have been living in Maizuru for a little over one year, but haven't been to many places in Nishimaizuru.

でもまぁ、今日は赤ちゃんが出掛けるちょっと前にうんちをしたので、お風呂に入れたりしていたのもありますが。舞鶴の観光名所を廻っている観光ループバスを利用する予定でしたが、１日一本しか走っていないので逃してしまいました。

仕方なく行き先を変更して、西舞鶴を探索することにしました。舞鶴に住んで１年になるけれど、ジェフが仕事で行く以外ほどんど西舞鶴には行った事がなかったので。

西舞鶴の「ぶらぶらマップ」を片手に、まずは円隆寺へ。奈良時代に行基が建立した古いお寺で、平安時代、鎌倉時代の仏像が多数残っているそうです。

Jeff's coworkers told us that Sushi at this super market by Nishi Maizuru train station is really fresh and good, so we tried. Jeff tried fatty tuna. Soooo good!

先日ジェフの学校の先生から、西舞鶴駅の側のバザールタウンというショッピングセンターの中のスーパーのお寿司がすっごく美味しい！と聞いていたので、お弁当に買ってみました。

確かにとっても美味しかった〜！

その後は桂林寺へ。山門の前に「キンクンシュ」と書かれた碑があります。「クン」はにんにくのことで、「臭いものとお酒は禁止」という意味だそうです。

なんだかこの門は、カンフーパンダを思い浮かべてしまいます。

そして最後に妙法寺へ。西舞鶴を一望できる眺望点だそうです。

帰り道の川にいた鯉。ここまでうじゃうじゃいるとちょっと気持ち悪い...

This was when we gave him bath this morning. He did not want to let go his towel. We missed our bus to go to the ocean park, but it was fun exploring Nishi Maizuru and we were able to eat really good sushi, so it was a good day!

これは、今朝お風呂に入れた後、タオルを掴んでなかなか服を着ささせてくれなかった時。バスは逃してしまったけど、西舞鶴探索も楽しかったし、お寿司も美味しかったからいいか〜。

かぼちゃの浅漬け

頂いたかぼちゃの浅漬け、早速食べました。きゅうりよりもしゃきしゃきしてて、ちょっと甘みもあって美味しかったです！

Dinner with teachers

We had dinner with two of teachers at Jeff's school last night. They found a restaurant where had a private room for our baby.

昨日は、ジェフの学校の先生２人とお食事に行きました。赤ちゃんが居るので、個室のある割烹　小料理屋さんを予約して下さってました。

Boiled and seared Sardine

お通しの、いわしを煮て炙ったもの。すっごく美味しかった〜。

Jeff did not like mackerel because it was too fishy when he tried it for the first time. The one we ate last night was very fresh, so he liked it.

お造りの盛り合わせ。はも、イカ、さんま、さば、など。ジェフはさばは生臭くて嫌いだったのですが、昨日のさばは新鮮で美味しかったみたいです。

It was Jeff's first time eating raw liver. He was refusing to eat it but finally tried a piece...

レバ刺し。ジェフは生で食べるのは初めてでした。かなり勇気がいったみたいです。

他にもお茄子の田楽味噌、丹波地鶏の唐揚げ、おもちの揚げ出しなど、全部美味しかった！こんな美味しいお食事を御馳走になった上に、かわいいお帽子まで頂きました。かっこいいね！

She also gave me a pickled pumpkin! Very rare.

Jeff got a text book for JLPT!! Now he needs to study hard for the test :)

I think that Jeff is very lucky to have such a nice coworkers!

こんな良い上司の先生に恵まれて、ジェフは幸せやね〜。

Fig

Today we ate figs. I can't remember when was the last time I ate them last. There was fig trees near my house when I was little, so I used to pick and ate them, or my mom made jam with them. This was Jeff's first time eating figs. He ate them and just said "interesting...".

今日はいちじくを食べました。何年ぶりやろう〜...１０年は食べてなかったな。小さい頃は、近所にいちじくの木があって、取って食べたりジャムにしてもらったりしたな〜。

ジェフは産まれて初めて食べました。食べて一言「おもしろい...」。

泣いているのか笑っているのか分かりません....

でも楽しそうです。このおもちゃを使うと笑いますが、普通にいないいないば〜をしても笑ってくれません。ば〜！っと両手を顔の前からどけると、どこか違う方向を向いて知らんぷりしてます。

Practice rolling over

This was when he was practicing to roll over the other day. He can lay on his side, but can't roll over without our little help. When he is not in the mood for practicing, he just lay there and laugh...

先日寝返りの練習をしていた時の様子。一人で横向きになった後は、ちょっとお手伝いをすれば寝返りできるようになりました。でも気分が乗らない時は何をやっても動きません！

Now he rolled over. He is trying to go somewhere with using his head and legs.

今度はちょっと成功。腹這いになったら、匍匐前進。でも腕を使う代わりに、顔面と足で移動してます。

Training to be a cage fighter

This was when he was 3 month old. He was moving his arms and legs so fast!

赤ちゃんにもブームがあるらしくって、この頃（３ヶ月）は手足をばたばたさせるのが楽しいみたいでした。背中にねじが付いているみたいにず〜っと手足をばたばたさせてました！８月だったので汗びっしょり... ブームが去ったのか、最近はもうしなくなりました。

He can roll over now!

He is 4 month old now. He can now roll over! He needs a little help most of the time, but he can roll over all by himself maybe once a day :)

４ヶ月半。寝返りができるようになりました！まだまだ成功するのは１日１度くらいですが...。一人で横向きになるのは簡単にできるようになりました。ここから寝返って、下になっている腕を抜くのが難しいみたいです。

最近は横向きの体勢になっていることが多く、パパママの動きを目で追います。首がしんどそう...

ころころ転がっていくと危ないので、用事をしている間はベビーチェアーに座ってます。

カエルちゃんはどこへ...

When I took all clothes inside the house the other day, I did not see that little frog on any of the hangers...but I found him inside Jeff's sock!

夜は窓を駆け回って、朝になるとハンガーに乗っていたカエルちゃん。先日、夕方洗濯物を取入れようとしたら、いつもはいるはずのカエルちゃんがいなくなっていました。どこにいったんやろ〜と思いながら洗濯物を畳んでいると...ジェフの靴下の中から出て来てびっくり！！

When I picked Jeff's sock up, the frog jumped out and scared me!

靴下を持ち上げると、カエルちゃんもびっくりしたのか飛び出してきました。家の中で跳ね回られては困る！と思って、外に出してあげると...

I put him outside on the balcony. Maybe I scared him too...he is gone now :(

ベランダでじ〜っとしていました。

あれから夜になっても、朝になっても、カエルちゃんの姿は見ていません...怖がらせてしまったのかな？田んぼに帰ってると良いんだけど。

Amanohashidate

Today we went to Amanohashidate, which is one of Japan's most scenic views. We found this "Holiday Ticket" which is 2000yen and allows up to 5 people to ride KTR Northern Tango Railway for one day. It is a lot cheaper than buying regular tickets even for two people!

今日、天橋立に行って来ました。赤ちゃんが４ヶ月になったし、気候もやっと日中外に出ても大丈夫なくらいになったので。西舞鶴から天橋立までは電車で４０分ちょっとです。今日はこの「KTRホリデーきっぷ」というのを使いました。２０００円で近畿タンゴ鉄道全線（普通／快速）が一日乗り放題。西舞鶴から天橋立までは片道６２０円なので、往復一人１２４０円。２人だと２４６０円。この切符で５人までが同時に同一行程で利用できるけど、２人でもかなりお得でした！終点の豊岡まで行ったら片道1680円するのに、この切符使っても大丈夫みたい...

We rode this Tango Roman #1. The train only had two cars.

乗ったのはこのタンゴ浪漫１号。２両しかありません。

Inside was clean and comfortable.

中はゆったりしていてきれいでした。

This is type of sightseeing train, so it either moved slower or stopped for a few minutes at the view points. This is the longest bridge in Northern part of Kyoto on Yura River.

タンゴ浪漫１号は観光列車なので、アテンダントのお姉さんが乗っていて、景色の説明をしてくれます。京都府北部で最長の由良川鉄橋を渡る時は、ゆっくり運行してくれます。

This is called Nagu cliff. We saw some guys fishing there.

絶景ビューポイントの奈具海岸では、電車は数分間停車してくれます。

We got to Amanohashidate in about 40min.

きれいな景色を見ていたら、あっという間に天橋立に到着しました。

We were walking around, and a guy asked us if we wanted to ride a boat. We were planning to ride a boat to go to the other side of Amanohashidate, so we followed this guy...but his boat was a motorboat. It's dangerous to go on one of these with little baby, so we took the bigger boat.

どこから見ようかな〜とうろうろしていると、ボート乗り場のおじさんに声を掛けられました。ボートに乗って府中エリアの方へ行こうと思っていたので、じゃあ先にあっち側に行ってみようということになって、おじさんに着いて行くと...モーターボートに乗せられそうになりました！危ない危ない。楽しそうやけど、赤ちゃんと一緒にはちょっと無理です。

赤ちゃんが居るので...と断って、別のボート乗り場からこの安全そうな観光船に乗りました。

You can actually walk to the other side of Amanohashidate on this pine tree street. It takes about one hour if you walk.

天橋立　松並木。歩くと府中エリアまで１時間くらいかかるそうです。

Our destination is Kasamatsu Park, the little park in the middle of the mountain.

目指すは傘松公園です。

We walked for a few minutes after we got off the boat. This is a manhole with Amanohashidate picture. Each city has different pictures on manhole.

さっそく股のぞきの台に上ってみました。

わざわざ股のぞきをしなくても、カメラを逆さまにすれば同じやん...とジェフ。

大きなカメラを持った集団がいるな〜と見てみると、ヨネスケが撮影に来ていました。最初誰だか分からなかったけど、近くにいたおばさんが「あ〜あのなんとかスケて人...」って言っているのを聞いて思い出しました。

お弁当を食べて、赤ちゃんもミルクを飲んでご機嫌です。

お土産を買って帰りました。

We found this new flavor Haichu at some of the souvenir stores, but it cost 150yen each when usually it costs less than 100yen. We thought that maybe it was because this is the sightseeing spot and thought maybe it would be little cheaper at the convenient store by the train station...but we were wrong! The guy at the convenient store did not even know there was Haichu of this flavor...We checked all of the souvenir stores on the way back to the train station, and finally found it!!

傘松公園や、文殊エリアのお土産屋さんで見かけた抹茶八つ橋味のハイチュー！「ここだけ！」と書いてあったのですが、ひとつ１５０円。普通ハイチューは１００円しないのに。お土産屋さんだから高いのかも。駅に戻る途中のコンビニにも絶対置いてあって、もしかしたらもうちょっと安いかもと思って、お土産屋さんでは買いませんでした...でもコンビニ行ってみると置いてなくて、お店の人に聞いてもこのハイチューの存在すら知らない様子でした...。駅までの道にはもうあんまりお土産屋さんがないし、電車の時間もあるので引き返すこともできず〜。とりあえず少ないお土産屋さんを片っ端からチェックしてみると、最後の最後で見つけました！

でも家に帰ってパッケージを良く見てみると、「関西限定」って書いてあります...他でも買えたかも...でもまぁ見た事なかったから良いか！

帰りはタンゴ浪漫２号に乗って帰って来ました。行きと同様、由良川鉄橋ではゆっくり走ってくれて、奈具海岸では一時停車してくれました。今日一日で、バス、電車、お船、ケーブルカーと、４つも乗り物にのったね！一度も泣かずに、ず〜っとおりこうさんでした！
