初節句

Yesterday, May 5th was Children's day and it was our baby's first time to celebrate this day. We had to come back to Maizuru on this day, so we celebrated Children's day and his one year birthday at my parents' house on the 3rd. He can't eat any sugar yet, so I made some pancakes and decorated with yogurt and fruits. I also made roll cake looks like Koinobori which is a carp-shaped wind socks traditionally flown to celebrate Children's day.

昨日は赤ちゃんにとって初めてのお節句でしたが、大阪から舞鶴へ帰って来る日だったので、３日にちょっと早めの節句と１歳のお誕生日のお祝いをしました。まだお砂糖は食べないようにしているので、ホットケーキにヨーグルトとフルーツをトッピングしたバースデーケーキを作りました。大人には鯉のぼり？のロールケーキを作りました。シフォンケーキの生地レシピでロールケーキを焼いたのだけど、すっごく美味しくできました☆





We don't have our own Koinobori, so we went to see them at the park by my parents' house. We went to see them at the different park last year. It was few days before I gave birth.

お家に兜は飾ったけれど、鯉のぼりはありません。でも家の近所の川にかかった鯉のぼりを見に行きました。去年もちょうど同じ頃に、大きなお腹で見に行きました。今年はジェフは疲れた〜とお家でお昼寝してたけど、赤ちゃんとお散歩できました。





At night, we gave him a bath in Shobuyu which is the bathwater with iris leaves to wish our baby's good health.

夜は菖蒲のお風呂に入りました。今年１年もまた健康に育ってくれますように！
